Endodontics, or "root canal therapy", is one of the specialties currently recognized by the American Dental Association. Our practice has been serving the needs of the Northwest Chicago area for over 25 years.

Dr. Brett E. Gilbert, Dr. Hammad A. Khan and Dr. Stephanie P. Liss along with our experienced endodontic staff are committed to providing the highest standard of professional care in a pleasant and comfortable environment. Dr. Brett E. Gilbert

Dr. Gilbert graduated from the University of Maryland Dental School in 2001 and then completed his postgraduate training in Endodontics from the University of Maryland Dental School in 2003. He is currently a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Endodontics at the University of Illinois-Chicago, College of Dentistry and on staff at Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago. Dr. Gilbert is board certified, a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics.

Dr. Gilbert has served as president of the Illinois Association of Endodontists in 2011 and as President of the Northwest Side Branch of the Chicago Dental Society in 2013-2014.

Dr. Gilbert has been a presenter at the Chicago Midwinter Dental meeting, Dubai World Dental Meeting, Star of the South Dental meeting, American Association of Endodontists Annual Session 2017, AEEDC Dubai Dental meeting and at the NW Side Branch of the Chicago Dental Society.  He lectures nationally and internationally on clinical Endodontics and conducts a two day hands on course at our office location in Niles, Il.  Born and raised in the Baltimore area, he graduated from the University of Maryland College Park with a Bachelors of Science in Biology in 1997. He is married and has two children.

Dr. Hammad A. Khan

Dr. Khan graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry in 2003.  He practiced general dentistry for eight years performing a wide range of dental procedures.  Throughout his career as a general dentist, Dr. Khan was drawn towards Endodontics and took the majority of his continuing education to advance his Endodontic skills.  In 2011, Dr. Khan returned to the University of Illinois to enter his post graduate certification training in Endodontics and Masters in Oral Sciences.  Dr. Khan is a Board Eligible Endodontist.

Born and raised in the Chicago area, he graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelors of Science in Microbiology in 1999.  He is married and has three children.

Dr. Stephanie P. Liss

Dr. Liss graduated from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry in 2000 and then completed a general practice residency at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois. The residency exposed Dr. Liss to a range of complex medical, dental, and emergency cases. Dr. Liss then practiced as a general dentist for about ten years near Midway airport.  She returned to the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry to enter post-graduate certification training in Endodontics. Dr. Liss also completed a Masters in Oral Sciences during this program. Her master's thesis is entitled "Comparison of Quality of Life Studies between Endodontic Treatment and Single Tooth Implants". She is a Board Eligible Endodontist.

Dr. Liss has volunteered at Community Health in Chicago, at the Indian Health Services in Gallup, New Mexico, at the Migrant Outreach Program in Traverse City, Michigan and as an educator for Children's Dental Health Month in Chicago. Born and raised in suburban Detroit, she graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelors of Arts in Anthropology in 1995. She is married and has two children.

Dr. Kevin T. King (founder of King Endodontics, retired in 2014)

Dr. King graduated from Loyola University School of Dentistry in 1978, then took his post graduate training in Endodontics at the University of Illinois, School of Dentistry. Dr. King completed his program there in 1981. He was an assistant professor in the Department of Endodontics at Loyola University.

He is a past president of the Northwest Side branch of the Chicago Dental Society and has been a presenter at the Chicago Mid-Winter Dental Convention.

Dr. King served on the Board of Directors of the American Association of Endodontists. He was the General and Scientific Program Chairman at their annual session in Seattle and Dallas.

He served as president of the Illinois Association of Endodontists and the Edgar D. Coolidge Study Club.

He grew up in the Mt. Prospect area and attended St. Viator High School and Loyola University, where he met his wife of 30 years. They have two grown children.
